Therapy in Tottenham

IMG_0023

I am a psychotherapist with more than 10 years’ experience of working with people facing issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, low self-esteem and trauma. I provide a confidential space for both individuals and couples to address their suffering.

My therapeutic approach is psychoanalytic, meaning that I seek to help people understand how unconscious psychological blocks may be contributing to the difficulties they are having. I believe that psychoanalytic psychotherapy leads to more longstanding change than approaches focused on providing solutions or emotional support alone.

I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), one of the main regulatory bodies for therapists in the UK, and follow their ethical framework. I am also a Senior Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, meaning that I have achieved a recognised standard of professional excellence and ethical practice.

I am a member of Pink Therapy, which is dedicated to working with clients in a way that respects gender and sexual diversity. Many of the people I have worked with are autistic or have a diagnosis of ADHD/ADD and my practice does not pathologise those whose neurotype differs from the predominant neurotype.

I work in private practice in Tottenham, Haringey.  I also work part-time at an NHS service for people who self-harm or experience an eating disorder. I have worked as a therapist for a bereavement service in Camden, for a mental health charity in Hackney, for a charity that supports adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and for a project that offers psychotherapy to people experiencing psychosis.

I am registered as a counsellor with health insurance providers Aetna Global Benefits, Aviva, Axa, Bupa and Vitality Health.

I work in English or French and see clients once, twice or three times a week.
